Cabelands Cemetery in Durham
The Eno River offers many points of interest to hikers and urban explorers, with its miles of trails cutting through the Eno River basin in Durham county. For those interested in a haunted URBEX experience, one Eno attraction is the Cabeland cemetery, home to the bodies of the Cabe family.
Visitors to the site have reported hearing faint yet distinctive voices of a man, woman and child speaking.
One couple reports:
- My husband and I have visited the site several times and never heard voices, until our last visit when we both hear a definite voice. This time we went out there just after sunset. We definitely heard a man’s voice and all we could make out were the words: noise, of about, miller, flags, and years. It was an amazing experience, but I would never go back there alone or after dark again.
You can discover the Cabelands cemetery about 200 yards off of CabeLands Trail on the Eno.
