Pink Lady of the Grove Park Inn
The Grove Park Inn, located in Asheville, is a stunning hotel built from granite quarried from the surrounding mountains. The granite has a strong mixture of quartz crystal inside, which is said to hold and amplify energy. Some say that the quartz in the stone of a building like the Grove Park, can radiate the energy of people who have visited and even died at the Inn.
Legend tells of a young woman dressed in a flowing pink gown that fell to her death in the Palm Court atrium circa 1920’s. The Pink Lady has been seen in any number of places within the historic Main Inn, although the greatest amount of energy and paranormal occurrences seem to revolve around room 545.
If you plan to take a haunted URBEX to the Inn, and want to maximize your experience, try to book room 545, as guests who stay in that room have complained of their belongings being moved around, or of feeling a distinct presence sitting next to them on the bed.
Although the Pink Lady is primarily associated with the hotel’s interior spaces, the landscape beyond is also well suited to phantoms. The Blue Ridge Mountains are characterized as otherworldly in early advertising materials. It is “the Land of the Sky”: the ideal location for a restless spirit.
