Look What Happens When You Google “WHITE SUPREMACIST”

I suspect Donald Trump has by now become accustomed to his campaign and presidency being linked to white supremacist. Now Google has jumped on board linking the search term “white supremacist” with pictures of Trump, some with him standing in front of clansman.

The results for the search are displayed in what Google refers to as a Featured Snippet which is pinned to the top of the search results page. The following screen grabs display some of the feature snippet images returned for the search term white supremacist:

Here is what Google documents for their Featured snippets:

  • Featured snippets in search
  • When a user asks a question in Google Search, we might show a search result in a special featured snippet block at the top of the search results page. This featured snippet block includes a summary of the answer, extracted from a webpage, plus a link to the page, the page title and URL.

It is unclear at this time if this search result is tied to a google bomb, a glitch, or is intentional.
